What’s your favorite car of all time? Regardless of whether it was yours, or a friends, or if you just like because why not.
EDIT: People have had trouble pinpointing one car, so if you are having that problem, then do the favorite car(s) that you have owned.
VW LT rally support wagon for your time.

This is the first question I get when people find out I’m a car person, and I have never, and can never, answer it. There are thousands and thousands.
![]() 11/27/2015 at 14:57 |

I’d have to narrow it down to a favorite car for a category.

Always has been and always will.

I just cannot.

That’s a tough question, there are many cars in this planet, but at this current moment, if I had to pick one, my favorite car would be this, but I’ll probably change my mind in minutes
![]() 11/27/2015 at 15:02 |

That’s like asking what your favorite child is. I can’t decide because there are so many.

All time... that’s a hard question. I could get it down to 5 per category for a shootout for me to decide between based on the experience of driving them. I generally think that if I had to choose a classic sports car it might come down to a Ferrari GTO, Tipo 33, TZ2, Mangusta (wide race) or a Miura. I love my Z, so perhaps throw a Fairlady 432R in there, but I see myself heading home in one of the others.

Could you narrow it down to the favorite car that you have owned?

Children? Use a condom man.

Lovely Maserati - year, model?
![]() 11/27/2015 at 15:05 |

That works. I would take the Fairlady over all of the other ones, but I’m weird..

Well I can’t really say for sure, none of us get to drive these cars we say we love based on their looks and maybe race pedigree. But we would have to live with it, maybe one is just magic for you to drive and we can’t know until we try. I know someone with a gullwing and the sounds it makes are just amazing, whining and growling. I need to drive them all to know!

Yeah, most people can’t, including me (I probably should proofread more.) Can you do a top 5, or best per category, or the favorite you’ve ever owned?

Or I could just leave home to “get some cigarettes at the gas station”. But in all seriousness:
The E46 is probably my favorite car even if it’s not special at all. But it’s very likely that I’ll buy one next year so that’s why.

Easy 1965 Shelby Cobra Super Snake, it is closely followed by a Saleen S7 twin turbo. Twin-superchargers, super lightweight, 2 produced, ~850hp, no aids of any sort all stuffed into a 10 year, floppy British chassis.

In my opinion, the cars that are the worse by conventional standards (comfort, ride, acceleration, etc) are the best overall.

1970 Shelby GT500 with 428 CJ, just like this one. It was awesome.

Special doesn’t necessarily mean good or fun. The Youabian Panther is definitely special, but it’s not good, fun, or anything other than fugly and ass - backward by even the lowest standard.

NOT the GT40?

It broke the fugly-o-meter. Is Dr. Youabian blind haha?

Has be a classic Power Wagon. It be a large chore to drive: non-synchronized transmission, very slow, no power steering, a bone shattering ride, etc. It oozes chest hair, and hard work.

I could probably muster a categorical favorite list, but they still change constantly.
Favorite supercar: P1
Favorite prototype racer: 787b
Favorite ‘luxury’ sports car: F-Type V8 Convertible
Favorite rally car: S1 Quattro
Favorite homolgation car I’ve owned: Celica St165 GT-FOUR
Favorite attainable sports car: 500 Abarth
Favorite muscle car: GT350R (Dat wing tho)
Favorite turbo F1 car: Lotus 98t
Favorite non-European F1 car: Lotus 49
Favorite track day car: BAC Mono
Favorite “show off” car: Lamborghini Diablo SV (later generation, fixed headlights)
There are a lot of categories. This is but a few.

The question was actually going to be “what’s your favorite car you’ve owned”, but I changed it because a significant portion of Oppo is unlicensed/still on their first car.

Cars I’ve owned? Probably the ‘91 CRX Si. Ever, for me to own and drive?

From front-to-back that car is so classic. Perfect proportions.
One of our guests last night was Brazilian, and after I asked him he went on at great length about the need for armored cars in certain parts of the country. As our reward for boring the women silly, we watched Singer Porsche videos. That’s where we lost them - at the restomod phase of the evening.
![]() 11/27/2015 at 17:32 |

I don’t think I could tell them to keep this.
![]() 11/27/2015 at 17:42 |

I would take it, then sell it for $30 million or whatever, then buy a Fairlady.
And a Daihatsu Charade. There’s no good reason for that, besides the fact that I think it’s awesome.
![]() 11/27/2015 at 17:50 |

Did he happen to mention what part of Brazil he was from?
Singers are beautiful things but I still crave a original 2.7 911 Classic to drive around the city, the cheapest one I can find. I’d service it at the German mechanic within walking distance of my apartment.

I just want an OS Giken motor for my Z....
![]() 11/27/2015 at 18:34 |

He did not mention what part.
And yeah - if I were going restomod, I think it would be (price-no-object) an Eagle E-Type, and if price were a factor, a Jense Interceptor. Not that that’s cheap either ....

If I ever get close to getting an F30 3-Series in my life I will work as hard as I can for it. I love them so much, even though the dynamics aren’t as good as the E90.
